ISLA CHALLENGE MODE

LYCEUM TO

ISLAND

COVE

SEPTEMBER 23, 2005

DAY1

7:00 A.M

·        First things first: I woke up late because my alarm clock (Kristine) didn’t wake up early (imagine life without time at your side, wahhhh) so I had a rush 30minute bath and finish packing up my stuff by 8: 30 A.M. I left my house at 9:30 because I had struggles in getting money with my mom and my sis (I had to beg for money, because I still have a balance of 400PHP to our class; everyone is due today). Now I’m all set (with 1 mountain back pack and a laptop) going to Lyceum and start one of the biggest challenge in my life (so far)

Things with me:

-         5 T-shirts

-         1 3/4s

-         3 shorts

-         2 pairs of socks

-         5 underwears

-         A pair of slippers

-         A pair of sneakers

-         2 shades (brown and red)

-         1 perfume

-         1 headband

-         1 jogging pants

-         1 powder

-         3 sets of anime cd’s (bleach, knight hunters, weib kreuss)

-         1 laptop

-         1 headset

-         1 digicam

-         1 pair of digicam battery

-         1 deodorant

-         4 packs of cigarettes

Things I haven’t brought:

-         videocam

-         Ipod

-         Audio cds

Total pocket money: 1000php

10:15 A.M

·        I arrived at school late because the jeepney driver drove so poorly (talk about lame driving). Almost all of my colleagues were there at the booth. I started doing my job (inspecting the things needed for the site) and doing some extra jobs also (like having the names for the participants printed). We had a meeting in our classroom by 10:30 and I was so shocked after hearing that, our debts have increased and it’s now 865php…whatthef**k!!! Here I am a while ago struggling for money to pay that 400 bill… and now it has become 800+?!??? I got quite frustrated, but hey… save it for later, ok?!?

11:30 A.M.

·        … Time to get the tarpaulins with Tina… It’s now time to board the bus. We seated at the back seat (Tina, Dianne, Kristine, Connie and me). While staying at the bus, we had some picture taking, many kulitan and eating moments. Before leaving, we (Marge, Juvi and me) went first to 7Eleven (mapua side) to buy our drinks for later purposes (2 grandmas and 2 packs of Earth&Sky ice tea). We came back to the bus…blah blah blah… ok! Let’s go to Island Cove

AROUND 1:30 P.M

Weather: Quite Rainy

·        Alas, we’re here at the site. Time for us to check in to our respective rooms (I was on 113 with goyen)… after checking in, we had a meeting with the committee heads (Goyen, Edz, 2Kristines, Cath, Pite and Me…) and discuss the things to do today. Everything went smoothly until…. Showbiz talk!!! Wow… Imagine I was in the spotlight of Intrigues (too confidential to elaborate more)!!! After the meeting it’s work time

·        I was introduced to Mr. Gaylord (wow, his name reminds me of that movie…meet the parents! Ehehehe)… he’s in charge of the island cove venue (as far as I know) and showed me the convention hall (tejeros hall) … wow, at first I was quite disappointed because the hall looked like a funeral room, and I was so pissed when he told us that this was our agreement in our contract with island cove. I mean… what the f**k is wrong with you guys?!? This isn’t even a banquet style hall… goddamit!!! And also, he mentioned that we will be charge an additional 20php/ seat for the seat covers… centerpiece flowers…blahblahblah… I got so frustrated so much, I walked out. I mean, this is bullsh*t man!!!! I can’t lose my temper now… so everyone from my team (logistics and marketing) tried their best to contact Milds, arranged this f**king issue and calm me down. Even Pettina (marketing head) tried to comfort and calm me down… but they failed to that… I messed up, really. “lalo na nung may nangyaring missed call kay…. Hay… lalo lang ako nalungkot  dahil ang sakit talaga” (secret). Ok, enough of the sh*t… let’s have dinner…

AROUND 6:00 P.M

·        It’s now time for dinner… well, I’m still pissed of what happened a while ago… so I came to xiang- li (dinner site) alone, and late. None of my colleagues had the success of cheering me up… until Fria (from the marketing committee) told me that the conflict was settled (there would be no charge for the seat covers, centerpiece flowers, etc.)… it pleased me a bit, but not that much. So I started talking againg with my seatmates, and started to eat my dinner. After eating, I continued my work… so I went to kawit pavilion to inspect the site and inform Mr. Gaylord the things I needed for the site. He apologized for what happened awhile ago, and helped me with my plans for the site. “nawala na yung topak ko bigla, buti na lang…” my working relationship with him became okay (a bit)… and I came back at xiang- li because there was a meeting again regarding the Isla challege game. Not much happened that time. So I went back to tejeros and finalize the site.

7:30 P.M. ONWARDS

·        After finalizing tejeros, we were surprised hearing that Ms. Danday ( Our Events Mgt. Prof.) came to Island Cove (that’s because we were informed first that she wasn’t coming because she’s already in her way home @ pasig)… she seems to be in bad mood when she arrived… and Goyen, Kristine and I didn’t know what to do to cool her temper down. <<<confidential issue follows>>> after settling the issue we had an open forum with the guys (the isla challenge event team). I think we slept around 3:00 A.M

<<<to be continued>>>

Lyrics: Heaven

September 19th, 2005 by themarksyndromeproject

I believe in heaven and know

that I should just accept it all

So content with the paths that I walk on

surely I should see it all

So take care and don’t go to far,

I will miss your soul

When the distance grows

and the nights are long

and your scared at times

and you wonder why

Take care and don’t go to far

I will miss your soul

I’ve looked into the sky a hundred times

and I’ve seen the stars that shine so bright

I’m sure that one of them is you, my friend

Watching and waiting and hoping that

I’ll be alright

So take care and don’t go to far

I will miss your soul

And when the distance grows

and the nights are long

and you’re scared at times

and you wonder why

Take care I will miss your soul

"Shampoo is better. I go on first and clean the hair. Conditioner is better. I leave the hair silky and smooth. Oh, really, fool? Really."
                                                                - quotes before the dread session

Conquer Outwear

Day1

First, I forgot to bring my money for the natty dread service (I had to come back home)…then all set, natty dread man (Charles) accompanied me to conquer outwear (the natty dread shop). I was introduced to paeng (the dread man) and inspected my hair… he said that it would be a bit difficult to transform my hair into dreadlocks because it’s so thin (undercut)… I didn’t care… let’s start the dread session!!!

Total hair dread strand: 14

Conquer Outwear

Day2

I didn’t expect that 1 whole day wasn’t enough to finish the hair masterpiece…. So I guess I had to make a major sacrifice just to attain my ultimate “natty dread” experience (talk about skipping the midterm exams that day just to continue the dreads…) then I arrived at Conquer by 1p.m. … dread session continues… paeng’s sked was so hectic that day he wasn’t able 2 finish my hair after 7hrs. of knitting my hair (I’ m 4 strands short). So I went home disappointed….

Total hair dread strand: 30

Day3

Wow… 3days… imagine I waited for this day to finish my dreads… ok, here it goes:

10a.m. I went to lyceum because of an emergency meeting (as expected, I had a bad feeling that all of us would be scolded during the meeting)… all of my co- organizers had a sneak peek of my dread… some were shocked, some were fascinated…but hey, it’s not yet finished, ok?

3p.m…. the meeting was settled, and I rushed right away to the nearest mrt (which is located near park n ride) just to catch up to paeng’s place… 3:45, I arrived at Conquer. And at last, the dread session was finished by 5: 30p.m. … hehehe paeng told me some instructions on how to maintain my dreads… and to contact him if I wanted to add more extensions to my dreads.

The dreads are complete… after 21 hrs. of dread labor…. It’s a dream come true

Total hair dread strand: 34 (+10 hair extensions)

Til next week….

‘Til then
